So basically, I haven't updated this thing for ages. Disappointing as it may sound but I'm feeling lazy this summer to actually write something worth reading.
Now I've decided to come up with a catching up blog because I feel like the cyber world has missed me loads already. *insert super blush here*
First thing's first, summer class has finally ended!!! Ooooh, the joy. Our finals were initially scheduled last May tenth, which, for some reason, only our Health Ed prof sticked with the said date, our Informatics lecturer extended until Saturday and since we didn't have our written final exam in Speech Communication, we had our verse choir presentation just this Tuesday-- and I must say I totally enjoyed it!
It was the best way to end our summer class, the fun we had while practicing for our presentation was more epic than the day we performed. =)) Of course, the other group made me shit brix because they were really really really good but for some reason, we were happy with what we did. Besides the drama that came up between the two groups, we still pulled off an amateur-but-insert-right-word-here performance. Imma cut this. I'll go to the happy part, back to the practices... Since, I'm not sure if it's fortunately or unfortunately, our group consisted of a bunch of creatures who are obviously not the serious type. It was really hard to come up with a whole plan for our piece but good thing, Luigi and Mark acted as our real-life superheroes and helped us improve (and FYI, I guess that's where all the issues started, Luj and M were accused of copying the other group's style but nonetheless, it was somehow settled) Oh my god this is so getting nowhere. My blog that is. What is happening to me. Lol okay, nevermind. Back to uhhhh.. yeah, the practices. Our first out of school practice was in a random rooftop Erick claimed to be his friend's/tita's building or something. That was way out of what we expected because when we reached the top, hellooo untidyness. Wtf there's no such term but this is my blog anyway. =)) We were quite hungry after reaching somewhere in the 4th line of the 1st stanza so we stopped and ate dinner. A 30-minute break which turned to more than an hour. We were cramming like crazy that time because we were to perform the next day but turns out our teacher was at Boracay for a seminar or something so we jumped out of joy (here comes the 2nd part of the issue because.. nevermind, it's not worth talking about anyway). So yeah, we jumped out of joy but we still did practice. Although, in a different place already. Since JD-Roadhouse (that's where we ate our dinner) was a walking distance with Dos Maria's (a pizza parlor), we decided to have our practice there. Because it would be too embarrassing to use the place as a covered gym, we ordered a 32-inch pizza to act as a cover-up for our real motive and for what luck, Luigi who was turning nineteen the next day, paid for half the price of the pizza. It was a mouthful for us! Especially since some had to leave early so we had some extra slices to munch. We did practice that time, but mostly, we spent it chattering and pigging out. And wiping Cherry's skirt because she slipped while we were walking to Dos Maria's. It was just so unplanned that our day, even though it was srsly tiresome, still ended up great. Our second most major practice was held at Plazuela. Because there was no place available for us, Rother suggested Plazuela. This was again, the day before the performance. And I really mean the actual performance already. And that time, we still didn't have actions so yeah *insert our major cramming faces here*. 10minsomething after we arrived there, it rained. *insert another major cramming faces here with some happy smiles because the rain is an excuse for some to leave early* We transferred near Little Martians and stood by there like tambays until the guard found and shooed us away. We had to let Mitch pretend her cousin was inside Little Martians playing but still the guard told us to go away. And so we did. And after a while, the rain stopped so we went back to the open area. This time, half of the group already left. *insert my cramming slash disappointed face here* But that didn't stop us. Mark, Janine, Hazelle, Juliet and I started choreographing some actions. *insert improved face here* We were in the verge of polishing some of our actions when Iloilo Magicians (a group of street magicians who randomly go to Plazuela to do some street magic every night) came to our sight. This is where the fun part came, and yes, we were too caught up having fun and messing around with them that we totally forgot we had a verse choir action to finish. So after a series of goosebumps for me (since it was mostly I who they picked to act as an assistant), laughs, and stomping of foot, we finally waved good bye and went back to our supposed-to-be-practice. It was late 10something when we had the textile cutting for our costume, and yes, we're still at Plazuela. The light posts were slowly being turned off one by one and we were still not leaving. We did leave when it was past 11 already and good old Luigi had to be the last one to take a taxi because he waited for us girls to find a ride.
It was one heck of a journey. I wanna post some photos for some proof of our ultimate epic fun practices but sad to say, I have none. Waiting for Jean and Ae to upload the photos they've taken during our practices and actual presentation.
All in all, my summer class wasn't so bad at all. Although I'm quite nervous about my grade because I always am!!! I never study when an exam is coming and then I'd freakishly hate myself for not studying. Always my problem.
Guess that's all.
